Rod Hall

I first met Brian at Santa Clara University in 1979. Brian was head of the Masters Pastoral Ministry program. It was there that I became interested in his Values theory and through Brian’s guidance I lengthened my Master’s degree program to the Counseling Psychology department. In so doing I was able to study extensively under Brian and became very familiar with his work in Values and had opportunity to work alongside him along with other students. I was able to attend and participate in major values conferences and retreats led by Brian

Upon graduation from Santa Clara University I began using the Hall-Tonna values survey instrument extensively in my counseling practice and as a professor of Psychology at Concordia University. In 1994 I came on staff full-time as part of the Values Technology consultant team.

As a lead consultant working closely with Brian, I was able to assist him in executive level coaching. Brian took me along to do executive coaching with CEO’s and presidents of corporations and top-level leadership. Coached five executive members of the Federal Quality Consultants of the Vice Presidents office, Washington, D.C.

Since 1994 I have worked together with Brian and our Values Consultant team in doing executive coaching in values and extensive team-building and organizational structure around values. Throughout the past 20 plus years I have had opportunity to lead many Values workshops and organizational development programs with Brian and our Values Technology team. In this capacity it has been my privilege to see the profound impact of Brian’s work and the depth and scope of his values theory upon individuals, teams and organizations. I have witnessed major shifts in leadership thinking, decision-making and operational developments that have enhanced the quality of life and business development for all who have gone through the values process.

I have been able to do values work with religious organizations and impact spiritual growth and development. This work has been based on Brian’s book “Spiritual Connections”. Through the use of the Hall-Tonna Values survey we have been able to guide, direct and influence faith development in individuals and ministry growth and development in faith-based organizations.
